Curriculum

Logic of English Foundations A

This all-phonics Orton Gillingham curriculum is completely supported by the Science of Reading. Manuscript (print) handwriting is incorporated into letter and sound learning. By the end of the school year, students can be expected to read and spell CVC words (consonant-vowel-consonant, like cat), write the letters of the alphabet, and demonstrate reading comprehension. This curriculum assumes no prior reading knowledge or preparation, but to ensure success, students should be demonstrating reading readiness signs like pretending to read or memorizing favorite books, asking what words say, identifying their own name, drawing shapes, and understanding directional words like above, below, and beside.

Singapore Math Kindergarten Essentials A

This program introduces number sense in a gentle way with lots of hands-on activities. Students who complete this program can be expected to write their numbers 1 to 10, demonstrate one-to-one correspondence, create and identify patterns, and understand the concepts of more, less, and equal to, as well as, identifying shapes and understanding beginning concepts of measurement and size.

Calico Spanish

Developed by linguists, this curriculum introduces Spanish in an immersive style the way we naturally develop language. Students will be introduced to fun songs, characters, and games to develop beginning Spanish skills.

STEAM, Social Studies and P.E.

These classes will be taught by our experienced staff of homeschool parents who develop the curriculum throughout the year based on a variety of factors, like seasons, student interest, and skill building.

This program is not recommended for students who are already confident readers or students ages 7+. For those students, please see our other offerings at Tuesday School and Power Hour Thursday. If your child has special needs, please contact us directly to see if our program is a good fit.
